Spent a great Sunday with @missnormality, her French man and mine. Miss Normality has joined me in my adventures to found good hawker food around the city. This time, we went to her ‘hood. I always enjoyed going to Maison Boulud in Beijing, but I have to say that I enjoyed a really fabulous meal at db Singapore. We were greeted by the hyperactive chef Stephan and given some extra treats, like the white truffles tarte flamb? to start. Yum. I have a soft spot for tarte flamb?… topped with white truffles. I’m sold.

My trips home are always inevitably short and stressful. I stopped planning in advance as I often never get to see everyone I would like to and in a span of days, it’s just impossible to put friends and family in equal place. Most of my friends understand, but then, there are others who don’t and continue to berate me for not calling. It’s never easy I guess. Going home is never a holiday, hopefully I learn to manage myself and my time better the next visit!

Chef and I took my parents out to dinner for my dad’s 70th. Instead of always going to Chinese restaurants, I suggested a change in the trendy Wanderlust Hotel.
Cocotte is a tastefully done urban chic resturant with a simple menu (although the way the structure of the wine list is a little dubious, with some wines categorised in the wrong region).
