Sunny Days, Rainy Nights

From Phuket weather blog, 1 year ago, Read 0 times. Similar articles

Well it's not such a wet September so far really. We're nearly half way through the month and I have measured about 150mm rain. Average for September is 372mm - see Phuket Rainfall Averages. Now, when you think about it, 150mm is actually quite a lot of rain. It's 15cm or about 6 inches of rain in 12 days so far.I am from England and people always joke about Manchester being a wet place.. so I looked at the climate averages for Manchester and the wettest month is October with 86mm of rain. But... Read more

It was a rainy June!

From Phuket weather blog, 1 year ago, Read 0 times. Similar articles

I am sure I have said this before, but... especially in the low season, Phuket weather is like a box of chocolates. That's good if you like chocolate of course, but not everyone wants the much hated coffee creme, while everyone seems to want the caramel. Caramel = sun. Coffee creme = rain. The weather decides our tourist seasons. More people will come in the months from November to April, as (on average) there is less rain. I have said many times that the low season can be great, but of course... Read more

Kata Beach Resort and Spa

From The Pucket Hotel Blog, 2 year ago, Read 0 times. Similar articles

The Kata Beach Resort is one of the few Kata hotels right on the beach. Much of Kata is "saved" in a way by Club Med, which is on the other side of the narrow beach road, so most of the way along Kata beach you have no buildings directly on the beach front. Kata Beach Resort is a big hotel with over 250 rooms, several restaurants, pools and even a 60 seater pool bar. Right on the beach, ideal location, and the south end of Kata has plenty of bars and (cheaper) dining options outside the hotel... Read more

Kathu Waterfall is found right near the Loch Palm Golf Course. It is very convenient to get to, and is a popular place to escape the summer's heat with an enjoyable walk around the waterfall followed by a picnic with friends. There is a good range of facilities around the waterfall, including a number of restaurants and food stalls which make for a very picturesque lunch location. Right nearby the main car park are a number of small drop pools and a cascading stream. This area is a very popular... Read more

In the face of widespread protests, planned drilling close to Samui Island will almost certainly be delayed for at least a year.
